Reverse Applique Ivy Clutch

Take your bag-making skills to the next level while learning a beautiful decorative technique inthis hands-on class. In this class, Genavieve will guide you through creating a custom version of the Ivy Clutch by Evergreen Threadz while incorporating a striking reverse appliqué design on the exterior panel. Reverse appliqué is a technique where layers of fabric are stitched and selectively cut away to reveal the fabric beneath. This process creates dimension, texture, and unique visual interest to your bag-making and apparel projects.
In this class you will learn:
• The fundamentals of reverse appliqué for bag making
• How to layer fabrics to create dimension and contrast
• Techniques for clean cutting and shaping your appliqué design
• Stabilizing fabrics for precision stitching
• Construction tips for assembling the Iris Clutch
Experience: This class is perfect for confident beginners through experienced sewists who want to explore decorative surface techniques while creating a practical project. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
You’ll leave the class with a finished Iris Clutch, and a new technique you can apply to future
bag, garment, and quilting projects.
